SDSU schedules emergency preparedness test for Sept. 10

San Diego State University File photo San Diego State University will conduct a campus-wide test of its crisis communication systems on Wednesday Sept as part of SDSU Ready Day an initiative designed to strengthen preparedness and society safety At approximately a m the university will activate its urgency alert systems to simulate the types of messages issued during an actual matter The one-minute test will include non-emergency emails text messages digital signage website updates and social media posts sent to students faculty and staff at SDSU and SDSU Imperial Valley In a real urgency these alerts would also be published in real time and time-stamped at urgent sdsu edu Leading up to SDSU Ready Day the university and the SDSU Police Department UPD will host informational tabling sessions to share safety information and demonstrate preparedness tools The event underscores SDSU s focus on proactive safety measures and encourages the campus society to take practical procedures including updating emergency contact information and enabling notifications through the SDSU Safe app SDSU Ready Day complements existing safety guidance such as the Evolving Shooter Training Video developed by UPD and the SDSU Safe app More information is available at https urgent sdsu edu sdsu-ready
